The proposed Cloud Data Centre at Klahanie Park is a state-of-the-art facility designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings while meeting growing demands for cloud computing and data storage. Spanning a 1.57-acre site in West Vancouver, the project prioritizes sustainability, functionality, and community engagement. The centre features four underground levels dedicated to data storage and ancillary spaces, totaling 25,500 square meters. At ground level, a 1,050-square-meter administrative core is sheltered beneath an expansive green roof. With a low-density FSR of 0.16 and 57% site coverage, the design preserves open space for site servicing, parking access, and landscape integration. Parking is incorporated underground, while service and delivery areas remain discreetly tucked beneath the sloping green roof. Located near the Capilano River and Marine Drive, the site enjoys excellent connectivity via Capilano Road, transit routes, and the Lions Gate Bridge. Inspired by its wooded surroundings, the building’s underground design minimizes visual impact. A glazed north façade engages park visitors, while durable materials such as concrete, glass, and fire-resistant stone enhance resilience. A publicly accessible observation area atop the green roof offers scenic park views, reinforcing the project’s commitment to sustainability, technology, and community benefit.
